Reiki

Reiki means universal life-force energy. Reiki is a scientific method of activating and balancing the life-force energy (also known as qi, ki, prana, or chi) present in all living things. Light hand- placement techniques are used on the body in order to channel energy to organs and glands and align the charkas (energy centers). There are techniques for emotional and mental distress, chronic and acute physical problems, and for achieving spiritual focus and clarity. This method is used as health maintenance, disease prevention, and healing art, and can be applied to oneself and to others. Reiki is a valuable addition to the work of chiropractors, massage therapists, nurses, and others for whom the use of touch is essential or appropriate.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a form of health maintenance which stimulates the body’s ability to correct and balance itself. Developed in China almost 6,000 years ago, it is based on the theory that the qi or chi life-force is channeled in its continuous flow throughout the body by a network of meridians. Disease is understood as an imbalanced meridian system. Hair-thin, usually disposable needles are inserted at specific points along the meridians to stimulate or disperse the flow of life-force in order to correct the imbalance.

Acupressure

Acupressure is an ancient healing art that uses finger pressure on key points of the skin to stimulate the body’s natural self-curative abilities. When these points are pressed, they release muscular tension and promote the circulation of blood and the body’s life force to aid healing. Acupuncture uses the same points but employs needles, while acupressure (the older of the two) uses gentle but firm pressure. Acupressure, using the power and sensitivity of the human hand, is safe to do on yourself and others

Active Isolated Stretching AIS

Active Isolated Stretching AIS (also known as the Mattes Method) is an innovative and invigorating therapeutic technique of stretching. It optimizes range of motion, alleviates functional imbalances and initiates neuro-muscular re-education. It brings oxygen and nutrients to the muscles, tendons and fascia, restoring elasticity. It stimulates the circulation and drainage of lymph, which helps to eliminate metabolic wastes.

Chiropractic

Chiropractic Care Doctors of Chiropractic (DCs) are spinal specialists who have completed a four-year course of graduate-level study-a minimum o f 4,200 hours of classroom, laboratory, and clinical training at an accredited chiropractic college, and passed national and state exams. Chiropractic education is similar to medical training but includes specialty training in chiropractic adjusting and manipulation, diagnosis, radiology, physical medicine, nutrition, and natural therapies. Emphasizing prevention, DCs provide drugless care with the goal of establishing and maintaining neurological and structural health. DCs treat spinal issues like back pain, disc injuries, musculoskeletal conditions, and sports injuries. They also address whole- body balance and may provide additional holistic treatment therapies, including nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle counseling.

CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy The craniosacral system surrounds the brain and the spinal cord, creating a core rhythm in the body that is communicated throughout it, all the way to the extremities. By using this rhythm for evaluation, the practitioner is able to tune in to the cause of the problem, rather than chase symptoms. CST is a system of evaluation and treatment viewing the individual as an integrated totality and utilizes gentle, non-invasive techniques. As a result, the application of CST helps to enhance the body’s innate healing abilities. CST may be helpful for many conditions, including chronic pain, headaches, CFS, fibromyalgia, postural problems, and much more and is beneficial for for both adults and children.

FeldenKrais® Somatic Education

The Feldenkrais® Method is a form of somatic education that uses gentle movement and directed attention to improve movement and enhance human functioning. It focuses on the relationship between movement and thought, increased mental awareness and creativity accompany physical improvements. Everyone, from athletes and artists to administrators and attorneys can benefit from the Feldenkrais® Method. In Awareness through Movement lessons, you are verbally guided you through a sequence of gentle movements intended to help you develop a greater awareness of how you move. These lessons occur in a group setting. Functional Integration lessons are individual with communication through touch and movement in addition to words in the process of self-discovery and learning.

Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a precision technique used to influence the flow of lymphatic fluid. As the body’s cleansing system, lymph flows within its own circulatory system, transporting cellular wastes, fat, proteins, and dead cells, and plays a major part in maintaining the protein balance of the blood. A malfunctioning lymphatic system, often from lymph node removal, may cause fluid accumulation between loose connective tissue, causing body-part swelling known as lymphedema. It is a chronic condition, often disfiguring and unsightly, which may progressively worsen and is prone to infection if left untreated. MLD is a systematic means of preventing and treating lymphatic congestion.

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) – The St. John Method is a comprehensive program of soft tissue manipulation techniques that balance the central nervous system with the structure and form of the musculoskeletal system. NMT is based on neurological laws that explain how the central nervous system maintains homeostatic balance. Accordingly, these same laws dictate how the central nervous system initiates pain responses
